Continuous Casting Machines ( CCM )
Continuous Casting Machines allow the molten metal to get the required shape and solidify continuously without interruption. Solidified metal in terms of billets/blooms/slabs are further processed in hot rolling mills and forge shops. Billets/Blooms/Slabs are also used in many other industrial applications. In the continuous process, liquid metal flows from the ladle to the tundish and further to the mould. There after the semi solidified metal passes through the primary and secondary cooling processes before it fully solidifies.
For quality steel casting the process includes closed casting process, tundish metallurgy, mould level control and electromagnetic stirring. Selection of caster radii is important to achieve the required size and quality of cast billets/blooms/slabs.
